6. Practice lying on the back without a pillow and with a light blanket or sheet covering the face for up to 30 minutes is recommended. This is to get used to the position while in the surgical procedure without feeling uncomfortable.

On the day of surgery (before you come to the clinic)

1. You should wash your hair and body thoroughly. Please refrain from wearing make-up, hair products, or perfume.  All nail polish must be removed. We recommend that you wear a button-down shirt for convenience since you will be wearing eye shields. Please do not bring any valuable belongings.
2. If the patient is suffering from red eye, stye (inflammation of the eyelids), loose bowels (diarrhea), or chest pains in the morning of the surgery day, the staff must be informed beforehand.

3. The patient can have soft and easily digestible food for breakfast, such as rice porridge, milk or hot chocolate.

4. Driving is not allowed on the day of surgery. After surgery your eyes will be covered with eye shield(s) on the operated eye(s). Although you can see through the eye-shield, you will have decreased peripheral vision and some patients may experience irritation, a stinging sensation, watering, hazy vision, and may have difficulties opening the eye which could be obstacles for safe driving.
